Location #1: The Abandoned Takakanonuma Greenland Park, Japan

Note: Locations are numbered merely to stand out from the creatures & ghosts. They are not rated in any particular order

Of course, my first creepy location is located in Japan!

Takakanonuma Greenland Park in Japan first opened in Hobara in 1973 but closed without warning just a few years later. The official claim for the shut down is repairs and improvements, but locals claim the park had to shut down after a large number of accidental deaths on their rides.

Oh yes, that looks completely safe.

The reason the two versions circulate is because information on the park is virtually impossible to find. The only other information that can be discovered is that the park opened again in 1986 and stayed open for a good 13 years, at which point it closed down permanently.

Now it simply sits there, rusting in the middle of no where and being slowly hidden away by fog and trees. I say middle of no where because I cannot give an exact location. The park can no longer be found on a map. Anywhere. People of the area just pretend it's not there.

If you're still willing to try and locate this place, bear this in mind. To get there, you take Highway 4 north for about an hour, then take a left before the train station in Hobara. Also, you take Highway 4 from Fukushima, whose nuclear power plant had a meltdown after the powerful tsunami that hit Japan, and radiation swept over the park as a result.

Rust, creepy trees, fog, and radiation. Yeah, I think I'll go to Disneyland, thanks.

    2. That's not the coordinates. That's in the middle of town, not in a wooded area.

    3. It is the coordinates...

It redirects you to the town to keep the place hidden. Clearly some creepy stuff goes on there.

    4. Those are the coordinates , however the park has never been shown to the map since 1999. They say it didnt and doesn't exist.

That is the correct coordinates. Takes you right to the hill/mountain the park was formerly on. Mountain still has the name of the park on the side of the hill....

    1. Actually it was torn down in 2010. You can read about someone's attempt to find it, and their discovery that it was gone, here. http://bloggitos.wordpress.com/2012/08/29/takakanuma-greenland-is-no-more/ A shame.

    2. As it would turn out, only some of the bigger roller coasters were taken down. Most of the park itself is still there and would still be a cool place to investigate!

  13. Im a time traveller I went back in time to see this place. it was shut down due to hundreds of deaths on the rides. the rides were very unsafe people died for several reasons they fell, rides crashed and broke, no safety belts or anything on the rides and the places is always covered in mist people were also trapped at the park and forced to ride the deliberately made dangerous rides

  15. Huh....looks like a cool place to do a documentary on. If I ever get to go to Japan... I'm going to bring my Video Camera, go there make a video and post it on YouTube. Of course, I don't believe the story about the 6 year-old girl in the white dress. You think Bill Edwards would've saw her before he took the picture? Sounds a bit too "Slender-manesque" for me. However, I read a lot of creepy pastas and I find proof that proves them false. That's the main of my research that I do. I debunk creepy pastas all the time.

  17. i read that the park was demolished in 2006. however in 2007 an explorer named bill edwards claimed to have visited the park and taken pictures, but none of them were there exept for one he took at the entrance which shows a girl with dark hair in a white dress standing in the middle of it.

no one has heard of him ever since.

  18. It's easy to find, type in numanishi japan in Google Earth and that construction site in the park, all that's left is the sign,it's now a solar power plant

  19. Actually the coordinates are 37°28'54.5"N 140°19'08.4"E It wasn't that hard to find.

  20. You can find it in google earth it does show up it's just an empty lot now holding tons of solar panels. I found the image on street view and the famous mountain with the lettering it's in people's backyards and I found the street entrance to the park. Nothing mysterious other than the creepypasas everyone seems to think is always the truth, oh you little teeny boppers.
